Great experience, beautiful island, wonderful staff.
Had a lovely day on Fitzroy island, the ferry to and from was great, and the staff were informative and quite funny. Loved getting to sit on the sundeck during the ferry ride and the bar and ice cream on the way back was an added bonus. Will definitely be booking again.
Raining but wonderful! The walk to nudey is stunning!
Even though it was raining it was still amazing. There’s a restaurant/cafe/bar with food and drinks and plenty to see and do! The walk to nudey beach was gorgeous. Jaz and Richard on Fitzroy Island Tours were lovely and will definitely book again! Don’t forget reef shoes there’s coral everywhere.
Beautiful island, excellent snorkelling, professional, friendly
We chose the full day Fitzroy island day trip (8.30-4) as we had heard the snorkelling around the island along with the natural beauty there was fantastic - we didn’t do any other reef tours so cannot make comparison. Boat trip was nice size and crew-friendly (not too big compared to other providers). Left on time and arrived back on time. We hired snorkelling gear from the island resort for $12 per item, $36pp in wet season. We booked the glass bottom tour directly with Reef Unlimited (the tour provider) after initially booking just the ferry in and out. The glass bottom tour $25 pp ended up being a disappointment. Ok if you don’t snorkel but not worthwhile otherwise. They take you around the corner to Shark Fin Bay, talk about the coral for 5 mins then bring you back. We didn’t do the turtle rehab or the long hike. We found snorkelling was best a little ways up the beach from the jetty saw some big tropical fish, interesting coral, stingrays, and even some turtles out there in the deeper section. We loved the view at Nudey Beach, worth 20 mins return walk. We found there was a fair bit of shade on the island under the trees and despite large crowds of people, there was enough space to spread out. For most cost-effective would recommend you book the full-day ferry return $80-90pp and then purchase the gear on the island for $36 pp (fins, stinger suit, mask) unless you find a better package deal.
